64th Spring Wildflower PilgrimagePosted by | 02.20.2015
Spring not only heralds its arrival with beautiful outstretched petals emerging from the forest floor, but with bird song announcing a new beginning.
Organizers of this year’s Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, April 21-25, have enhanced the 65-year-old event with a birding theme to include bird-specific programs, sketching classes, helpful tips on attracting birds to your backyard, photography, an Audubon program, and several birding hikes.
As always, the Pilgrimage continues to offer a variety of wildflower walks and hikes on various trails throughout GSMNP… all led by knowledgeable professionals and naturalists. Also adhering to tradition, the Gatlinburg Garden Club will host the opening luncheon, and evening programs are free and open to the public.
Thursday evening’s Smokies Life Magazine reception sponsored by GSMA offers the chance to meet the authors, designers, photographers, and artists who played an active role in the magazine’s production. Talented artists, craftsmen, and plant vendors will offer a variety of products for sale, and a photography contest offers the chance to vote for favorite images.
GSMA is proud to serve as a sponsor of the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, which is headquartered at Mills Conference Center in Gatlinburg. Visit HERE for more information and to register.
