Relief Fund Established for Fire Victims

Posted by | 11.29.2016

The NPS/GSMA Employees' Fire Relief Fund, which has raised nearly $160,000, has been closed. Because of your generosity, it's now time to put these dollars to work helping the national park families who lost their homes during this tragedy.
In addition to our heartfelt thanks for your support, we ask that you consider supporting our area through other avenues:
Friends of the Smokies -- For the park's fire recovery efforts
My People Fund -- Dolly Parton's commitment to providing provide $1,000 each month for up to six months to any family who lost their primary residence (renters and homeowners) due to the wildfires.
Pi Beta Phi Elementary School Student/Staff Fund, P.O. Box 4717, Sevierville, TN 37864
Mountain Tough -- For information on how to volunteer and donate in Sevier County
Make plans to visit and support our gateway business communities

NOVEMBER 29, 2016 -- We have learned that possibly one GSMA employee and at least three National Park Service rangers have lost their homes in the wildfires that swept through the national park, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge area on Monday night and Tuesday morning, Nov. 28-29, 2016.

Because so many of you have asked us how you can help, we’ve established a relief fund. Through this account, 100% of donated funds will be divided among NPS and park partner fire victims to help them rebuild their lives. Thank you for your support.
