Let's get back into the classroom in the 1881 one-room Little Greenbrier schoolhouse that doubled as the community's Primitve Baptist church until 1925, where we'll receive a lesson about the good ol' days with park volunteer Robin Goddard dressed in character.

Tour the Collections Preservation Center

Friday, November 16

Join us for a tour of the National Park Service Collections and Preservation Center. Take a look inside the modern facility where irreplaceable materials are preserved and studied by NPS staff and visiting researchers. Baird Todd, NPS Museum Curator and Mike Aday, Librarian-Archivist for the center will provide an up-close view of items worn, worked with and written by the people of Appalachia and the Great Smokies.

Day Hike Cades Cove History

Explore beautiful Cades Cove with us, and learn about the lives of the settlers in the area where we will vistas many cemeteries as possible. In no particular order, we'll stop at the Post, Boring, Lequire, Robert Burchfield, Davis and Hilltop cemeteries and discuss the history of settlers to the area and their burial customs.
