Louise Kinsland Nelson grew up in the Big Branch Community in the 1920's and 1930's and attended the Bi Branch one-room school in 1943. After graduation from highschool in 1943, she and her husband, Floyd, owned and operated Nelson Radio and TV service for thirty-five years. Recently, Louise started writing for the Waynesville Mountaineer about the customs of early country living. After an outpouring of interest, she was encouraged to compile the stories into a book.
