More Information
Short Description For mountain folk, honey was a cash crop, a trade good and a food. Farmers captured wild bees from the forest and raised them in sections of hollowed logs called gums. The Honey Gift Box comes with a 16 oz. bottle of honey and a small tub with a bar of lye soap. The honey comes in an old-fashioned Muth style jar. This style jar dates back to the 1800s. A honey dipper is attached to the side of the jar and is finished off by a cork stopper. The lye soap comes in a small tub and is tied with a ribbon. A recipe from our Recipes of the Smokies book is included. Ribbon color is random and can not be guarranteed.
